Over the past 45 years BCHOD has been involved in projects including over 150 000 housing stands in Zimbabwe and many more also within the Sub Saharan region in particular Botswana, Zambia and Namibia.
In the last 5 years, the company has undertaken the Project Management, Planning, Design, Construction Management and Supervision of housing projects throughout Zimbabwe to a combined value of over $200 million. Projects have varied from low density to high density and low cost houses to very high cost dwellings.
The most recent being Unki Mine Housing project which was the design of infrastructure including bulk services of 1,409 houses on green field site at Shurugwi in Zimbabwe. Construction phase was from August 2011 with a project cost of $130 million.
BCHOD were the sole consultants undertaking all activities from design, tender procedure, construction management and supervision to Project Management.
Project clients have included Zimbabwe Government Ministries, Banks and Financial Institutions such as Old Mutual and CABS, Major Mining houses including Anglo American, Rio Tinto,
Zimplats, other developers such as Shelter Zimbabwe, Houses for Africa and many Municipal Authorities including Harare and Bulawayo City Councils.
The Firm has also been very much involved in the preparation and reporting on standards pertaining to the provision of services for high and medium density housing developments including significantly the affordability analysis. Reports have been prepared by the Harare Office for use as official standards in Zimbabwe and Botswana and also as reference standards for Namibia.
